Mr Edwin Keh, MH

Chief Executive Officer at HKRITA

Mr Edwin Keh is the CEO of The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel. He also teaches supply chain operations in the Operations, Information and Decisions Department of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

 

Edwin was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2020 by the HKSAR Gov for his research work during the pandemic.  He was named the best of Top 50 Innovative Retail Leaders by Inside Retail Hong Kong in 2019 and is on the Debrett’s Hong Kong 100 as one of the most influential people in Technology and Digital sector, and a recipient of the Production and Operations Management Society’s Excellence in Production and Operations Management Practice Award. Edwin holds multiple IPs which won global invention awards.

Carmen Ng

Carmen Ng is Director of Sustainability at Langham Hospitality Group. In her role, she leads and drives the sustainability strategy within the Group. She is responsible for a diverse range of sustainability programmes including strategy and policies development, management system, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, communication and reporting. She also believes in sustainability is everyone’s responsibility and her role is implanting this concept like a DNA into every colleague in the company.

Cesar Jung-Harada

Founder of MakerBay, Senior Lecturer at HKU

Cesar is a French-Japanese inventor, environmentalist, entrepreneur and educator living in Hong Kong. He is currently the Director of MakerBay, Hong Kong’s MakerSpace for Social and Environmental Impact. He is also the Director of Scoutbots and inventor of Protei, a revolutionary shape-shifting sailing robot conceived for cleaning oil spills in the ocean, which won the StartMeUp HK Grand Award as well as the Fast Company 2015 Most Innovative 10 Companies in China. He is a TED Senior Fellow and his TED Talk “How I teach kids to love science” has been translated into 36 languages and viewed over 1.5 million times. Cesar holds numerous awards and is a graduate of the Royal College of Arts London, Design Interactions Department, and worked at MIT as a Project Leader and Researcher. Today he teaches for the new Bachelor of Arts and Sciences+ at the University of Hong Kong and is a frequent speaker, judge, mentor, designer, researcher and developer.

Carine Pin

Co-Director at The Mills Fabrica

Carine Pin is Co-Director of The Mills Fabrica and focuses on building the techstyle community, developing partnerships and designing Fabrica’s incubation program.

 

Prior to joining Fabrica, Carine worked in marketing and consulting at major international luxury brands including Guerlain, Richemont Group and Shanghai Tang, where she held various positions in corporate marketing, communication and operational marketing, strategic marketing and product development as well as business operations. Carine also worked as a consultant helping smaller international premium and luxury brands expand their business in Asia and local companies develop new products and retail concepts.

 

With a passion to help and connect, Carine is a MIM in Performance Management graduate from French business school NEOMA.

Ryan Wan

Oversight of HKSTP’s Elite Programme, he focuses on providing financial support to portfolio companies, including fundraising, financial management and advisory. Before joining HKSTP, Ryan is a former CFO and company secretary of a company listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Ryan has years of experience working in financial management and external auditing. He holds his Master degree in Corporate Governance from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and BA degree in Accounting from Hong Kong Shue Yan University. He is also a chartered accountant and company secretary.

Felix Yu

Manager, Entrepreneurship at Hong Kong Science and Technology Park

Felix is the Manager, Entrepreneurship of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks. Oversight of HKSTP’s Ideation Programme, a pre-incubation that supports early stage startups and entrepreneurs His duties includes venture sourcing, financial/commercial due diligence and admission guidance. Acted as an independent advisor to 80 tech startup incubates, actively advised on scaling their business model and their execution plans with consideration to finance, technology and marketing. Before joining HKSTP, Felix is the former Community Manager at Tencent WeStart (HK).

Felix came from a strong hospitality background. He holds his BA degree in Hospitality & Event Management from Swiss Hotel Management School. He has years of experience working in The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong.

Natalie Lung is the Program Manager for the Food Technology Accelerator Programs at Brinc, a global venture capital and accelerator firm that empowers entrepreneurs to help solve some of the world's biggest challenges. In her role, Natalie invests in and supports startups that are using technology to make the food system more sustainable and efficient. Through the program, Brinc has made 40+ investments in the food tech space encompassing Alternative Proteins, Novel Ingredients, Functional Foods, Food Supply Chain Optimisation and Logistics. 

 

Prior to her current role, Natalie has previous experience working in the financial industry in venture capital and investment banking. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

Shauhrat Chopra

Assistant Professor in School of Energy and Environment, CityU

Dr. Shauhrat S. Chopra obtained his Integrated Masters of Science in Systems Biology from the University of Hyderabad, India in 2011. He received his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, USA, in 2015. His doctoral dissertation was focused on resilience of complex systems including economic systems, industrial symbiosis, and critical infrastructure systems at urban and national levels. Before joining the School of Energy and Environment, Shauhrat worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Environmental Science and Policy, University of Illinois at Chicago, on the U.S. EPA funded LCnano project focused on sustainable design of future transformative nano-enabled products. His data-driven research is focused on designing indicators for sustainability and resilience of the built environment in support of environmental decision-making.

Charlotte BREYER

Chris Wettling

Chris Wettling is the Co-Founder and Director of Business Development at CHOMP, Hong Kong’s new food-saving app designed to make living sustainably a little easier in Hong Kong. A connector of people and wearer of many hats, Chris focuses on strategic partnerships and driving the company’s vision to change the way people feel about food consumption.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Chris grew up in a family of F&B executives and hoteliers, so it became no surprise that Chris would embark on a journey that is food-related. Prior to pursuing CHOMP full-time, Chris worked for renowned experiential marketing agency, Jack Morton, where he held positions in account management and business development and managed clients including FWD, HSBC Private Banking and Vacheron Constantin.

Passionate about sustainability and all things food-related, Chris is also a graduate from hospitality school, Glion Institute of Higher Education, Switzerland.

Dawn CHUI

Dr Dawn Chui has been advocating and commercializing innovation solutions along the sustainability line. Since 2020, she dedicates efforts in an innovative food waste management solutions which is hyperlocal, hygienic, organic and friendly to the environment, and bringing optimal operational efficiency. Earlier, Dawn had set up and managed the China-Italy Innovation Center in Shenzhen working with the authorities, academia and investors. Also, she had been the Head of Business Development – International and China at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks, and the Head of Asia-Pacific for the International Association of Public Transport (UITP).

Felix Cheung

Felix Cheung is the founder and CEO of IXON, a Hong Kong startup that specializes in food preservation. He is the inventor of advanced sous-vide aseptic packaging, a sustainable packaging that enables the storage of fresh meat, fish and seafood at room temperature. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Australia, Felix came from a family with 30 years of experience in food, catering and hospitality. He is a permanent resident within the hotel chains of Hyatt International Group and has given talks on customer services and loyalty marketing. Apart from being a well trained chef, Felix holds a PhD degree in physics from the University of Sydney, a Master degree in Food Analysis and Food Safety Management from Hong Kong Baptist University, and a Bachelor degree in Earth Science, Mathematics and Physics from Flinders University of South Australia.

Kanika Jhunjhnuwala

Kanika is the Executive Director of Sustainability & Environment at Sudima Hotels and a member of the Institute of Directors.
