The recently concluded phase 1 of our project “ECF Zero-waste to Landfill for the F&B Industry: Creating Circular Systems Through Education, Practice & Partnerships”* threw up some interesting data on food waste and recycling.
Here’s a glimpse of what we managed to reduce, reuse and recycle.
A total of 3674kg were saved from landfill
2157kg glass recycled
1106.7kg food waste turned into compost and energy
335.4 kg CO2eq greenhouse gases avoided
A total of 6992kg of waste generated by 5 restaurants from June 1 to August 31 of this year.
Kudos to each of our participating outlets @bretzelhk @bouillonhk @nissalabellahk @pastisgroup @tellcamellia @wearethepontiac and partners @baguiogreen @ecpalhk for all their efforts. You will get to meet them in December at our Zero Waste Festival, stay tuned!
